On a lighter note, I had the opportunity to talk to my good friend Timothy Johnson over the Thanksgiving holiday. Tim and I met through the blogosphere a couple of years back, and until a few days ago have communicated entirely via blog posts and e-mail. As he remarked to me on the phone, it was great to finally put a voice with a face and a blog site...:)
Anyway, to lend credence to the title of this post, we were talking about books and came around to titles like Bob Sutton's The No Asshole Rule and Thayler & Koval's The Power of Nice. I then started talking about the latter tome and told Tim a story I had read in the blogosphere about some guy using it to swat at annoying flies while reading it - killing the flies with the "Power of Nice" - the irony was pretty funny.
Well, what I was talking about to my good friend was a blog post that he had made some months back. I was about 3/4 of the way into my commentary about it when we both realized that I was talking about his post as if it was done by a third party. My bad....:)
Just goes to show when you have something relevant and/or entertaining, people notice. Tim's blog is a great resource about office politics and project management - and one I recommend highly.
